Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled UI/UX Developer to join our team, who will play a crucial role in building intuitive, user-friendly products. The ideal candidate will have a creative flair and experience with design software and wireframe tools used in creating web and mobile applications.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing a design strategy that caters to a diverse user base, including all age groups. You will ensure that our products are accessible to everyone by incorporating best practices for accessibility and compliance with relevant guidelines. You will also implement mobile-responsive design principles to ensure seamless user experiences across various devices and screen sizes. Your work will contribute to creating inclusive and engaging digital experiences that meet the needs of all our users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and evaluate user interface and experience requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers.
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps.
  • Create branding guidelines and design artifacts, including user interface elements like menus, tabs, and widgets.
  • Build page navigation buttons and search fields.
  • Develop UI mock-ups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look.
  • Create original graphic designs, including images, sketches.
  • Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders.
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems, ensuring responsiveness and functionality.
  • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback.
  • Ensure consistency in visual design by following established style guidelines for fonts, colours, and imagery..

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in UX design (web and mobile) and graphic design illustrations.
  • Expertise in graphic design software, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Adobe InDesign.
  • Proficient in Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline for creating e-learning videos and course content.
  • Experience with Audacity for audio recording and editing and Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing.
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS and experience in the e-learning domain, such as Moodle administration, is an advantage.
  • Ability to execute and implement print and web design.
  • Strong analytical skills to understand project and client requirements.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and guidelines (e.g., WCAG).
  • Understanding of mobile-responsive design principles.

Technical Skills

  • Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role.
  • HTML and CSS programming experience.
  • Wireframe creation: Ability to create web page layouts stripped of visual design to prioritize page elements based on user needs.
  • Prototype Development: Experience creating samples or simulations of final products to test and gather feedback on UI/UX.
  • Mockup of Pages: Ability to create realistic visual models of what a final webpage or application will look like.
  • User Flow Diagram: Experience mapping out each step a user takes when using the product.
